THE CHALLENGE
The client had developed two mobile phones made from recycled materials, one solely using plastic and the other a mixture of metal and plastic. The client required an effective solution for showcasing the recycled mobile phones.
The challenge was to highlight the key elements of the product while maintaining the brand's integrity and showcasing the product in a visually stunning manner for promotional purposes.
DESIGN APPROACH
The design approach comprised of the following steps:
Research: The team conducted extensive research to understand the client's requirements, the target audience's preferences and the best methods to highlight the recycled materials' unique features.
Concept Development: The team developed several design concepts, taking into consideration the research findings, the client's brand, and the product's aesthetic. The chosen concept was a sculptural photography rig that could be adjusted by the photographer to change the heights and angles of the mobile phones inside the sculpture.
Material Selection: The raw materials were collected and manipulated to create Prototyping: The team created a prototype of the photography rig to test the design, materials, and functionality. The prototype helped to identify any areas that needed improvement before final production.
Production: The sculptures were integrated into a photography rig produced and used to take product photos that gave context and intuitive understanding to the concept of recycled mobile phones.
